After the dismal review of Learn French and Play 1, I was hoping that this app would redeem the developer.
It started off well, with 4 screens to choose from:
Once you choose a screen, you will get a lovely page with vocabulary on it:
When you touch the images, a voice will say the word. Very nice. However, there is only one game to play for each screen:
A voice will say a word and the child has to touch the correct object. This is a great activity and I like that there is no translation, it's all strictly in French. When the game is finished, a screen comes up to congratulate the child. I love this!
However, there is only one game per screen for a total of 4 games. The option "More games" at the bottom of the home screen directs you to a page to buy more games.
Also, would it be too much to ask for a little more ethnic diversity in the images? All the children are caucasian.
Overall, I was not too impressed with this app, unless you use it with very young children. My suggestion would be to avoid apps by the developer, Bacarox if this one is indicative of the quality.
My rating: 2 stars out of 5.
